Governance represents the means by which direction and control are applied to stewardship of an organization's assets – tangible and intangible, financial and non-financial – in the pursuit and delivery of the primary objective of sustainable value creation.
It is essentially a function of leadership and direction within the organization; appropriate risk management and control over its activities; and the manner in which meaningful disclosure relating to its activities is made to share owners and other stakeholders.
But why is it so difficult to implement and control governance related activities? How do all the various aspects of governance as related to units in the business relate? Is it possible to have an overall governance framework that encapsulates both business and technology related aspects?
